What is Man to Do on Earth?

Sir Zahid Zahoor
Friday, 30th July 2010.  It was a rainy day at Murree, a hill station in Pakistan.  We were 8 friends, ex-class fellows of M.A English 1997, with our M.A English teacher and spiritual guide Sir Zahid Zahoor, Professor at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Sahiwal Campus, Sahiwal - Pakistan.  Venue was grassy lawn of 'Black Bull Cafe' of Abdul and Sheikh Faisal, at Mall Road of Murree. We were just got free after taking our lunch and question was raised by one of my friends: What is Man to Do on Earth?
And Sir Zahid replied with so pregnant answer that we all were speechless for next couple of hours and only speaking person was Sir Zahid.  I will try my best to recall all the major points of Sir Zahid's narration, if I miss something contextually or ideologically, it will purely be my mistake, and i beg your pardon in advance.
Listen my brothers, this is very common understanding today, in almost all major religious sectors of this world, especially in Islam, that man is born to worship God.  Preachers of Islam are majorly focusing that your major duty is to say all your prayers, perform Hajj, pay Zakat, keep your fasts and that's all.  You will go directly to Heaven, else to Hell.  My question is this that If one of you perform all his above mentioned religious duties, then who is the beneficiary, only you?  Only worshiper is going to get the reward?  Is this Islam's true sense? No, never my brothers.  Islam is all about humanity, the love of humanity.  If you are a good worshiper, its only for the sake of benefit your self.  None of your brother or your neighbor or your colleague or your servant is getting any reward out of your prayers.  My brothers listen carefully, if you are a good worshiper, performing all of above mentioned religious duties and you think that that's all, you are very wrong.  None of your worships will be acknowledged by God if you slept with full stomach but your neighbor suffered the hunger that night.   You wore a new cloth but your servant was wearing a lacerated cloth.  You were enjoying your luxurious life but one, around you in daily life, was hardly meeting both ends of the candle, none of your prayers will be acknowledged.  Keep remember, God loves those who love God's creatures.  In fact loving others is the love of God.  Feeding a hungry man in fact is feeding God, with love.  So keep open your eyes, and always seek for the needy persons who need your help, and help without desire of even recognition from that person.  Even liked situation is this that help some one with one hand, in such a way that your second hand doesn't know what and whom you helped.  Paying your worships is mere a trade for the sake of Heaven, not solely for God.  If you want the real Love of God, love His creatures, love all humanity and always keep seeking the opportunities where some one may get benefit from your self..........

A peaceful face, i can't forget

Just 2 days ago, 14th August, one of the most celebrated day i can remember in my life, today I, my family and we all Pakistanis are in sorrow, our hearts are tearing for those suffering from disastrous flood.

It was about 5 pm, just a couple of hours before the Iftar time when i was leaving from Edhi Welfare Center, AIO town Lahore. A car stopped by my bike, a gentleman came out from driving seat and rest of the car was full of Nestle 1.5 liter water bottles. 2 Edhi personals came to help him and they started to evacuate the car from water bottles. These bottles were for flood victims. My eyes were continuously gazing the peaceful face and so calm eyes of that gentleman. I can see the sensations of misery and help for those who were in trouble of flood. There was a passion in those eyes, passion of help, passion of brotherhood and passion of humanity in those eyes, one can clearly read.

All the time since that moment, i couldn't forget the passion and peace at that face. All the time I had been thinking and thinking, that if this is the passion of our whole nation, we can, no doubt, stand once again, as a brave, passionate and progressing nation. I, even, cant elaborate all those things i just read out from that face, but that was a face i can't forget.
